CORRECTION:
My apologies for the misinformation night regarding settling of the ties.
Old habits of long run obviously die hard! LOL
The following persons will have a shoot off for the respective positions on Saturday, July 26, AFTER the completion of the Sporting Clays. Please ensure to be there early as failure to show up will result in the higher position being awarded to the person present. Good luck guys and great shooting!
B1 & B2:
- Richard Azan Jr
- Marlon Dacosta
C2 & C3:
- Albert Chow
- Richard Bernard
Thanks to Craig Simpson for pointing that out!

Windover threatened rain but never followed through on the threat! A light breeze and clouds with blue sky peeking through made for a wonderful day of clay bustin'! As we have become accustomed to, ONeal set courses that were varied in presentation and difficulty, providing international level birds for all to attempt.
Using the natural landscape of the property, course 4 had most of the birds below your feet, including that 30 yard rabbit, 15 yards below your feet! Even though it was trickling across the field, many missed it over the top. Course 2 was the exact opposite, with birds launched 25 yards over your head. The curving line of a battue looks VERY different when you view it from directly underneath! Course 1 had mostly outgoing birds with that one gentle-looking incoming floater that left a few scratching their heads as they missed it over the top. Course 3 had mostly incomers except for the deceptively slow midi that passed ten yards overhead on its way out to fall just twenty yards from your feet! The right to left incomer came screaming off the hill, with gravity acting like a turbo charger the longer you waited to shoot it. Sometimes closer is not always easier!
With two full rotations of twenty shooters and an additional squad for the 2:00PM rotation, we had a good turnout for an All Jamaica 5 Stand shoot. Thanks to all the shooters who made it out for the day; and thank you for getting there on time! We know we can count on your support to arrive on time next week Sunday. Now for the top performances on the day.
Ian Banks (92) produced another HOA for his third HOA for the year! Congrats Banksie! Bobby Chung (91) was spotted at the pharmacy after his RUP performance. Whatever he was stocking up on, its working!
A class was dominated by the Ziadie family and was a clean sweep for the management committee! Geoffrey 'Maxxis' Ziadie (90) topped the class, followed closely by Errol Ziadie (89) who pipped Khaleel Azan (88) by one bird! It was nice to see these gentlemen who give so much of their time to the Club performing at the top of their class.
Top of B class found a familiar name, Richard Azan Jr. (78) taking home Junior first and winnning in a shoot off for B1 with Marlon DaCosta (78). Richard Ramson (76) rounded out the top three. B class saw only 5 birds separating all the competitors!
C class was won by Mike Fisher (81). Good thing he got permission to come out and play, eh? Squad mates Albert Chow (73) and Richard Bernard (73) are in a shoot-off for tied and were placed second and third respectively by long run. Nice shooting fellows.
D class had only two competitors with Garfield Sang (58) edging out Andrew Madden (55).
E class was keenly contested with seven competitors; a good turnout in this class for an All Jamaica. Evan Thwaites (70) really shot well to win the class by 12 birds. Fantastic shooting Evan; C class is waiting on your arrival and we know it won't be long! Chad Ziadie (58) continues to almost deliver on his promise of an E class victory with an outstanding E2. This sub junior first place competitor is heading for D class with a vengeance! Excellent performance Chaddie. Donald Ho (52) earned E3.
In Junior class, Adrian Bradford (31) won second behind Richard Azan Jr.
We want to thank Wysinco for the much appreciated ice cold WATA and COKE provided for the shooters. A Coke and a smile was the song of the day! :)
We also want to thank NISSAN and Fidelity Motors for brightening up the place with their colourful flags and spotless new vehicles. There always seems to be big smiles on peoples faces as they get out of one of the vehicles after a test drive. Come on out and test drive one of their new trucks next weekend. Great way to end a fun day of shooting is a short trip in that new car smell! :)
Looking forward to seeing more of you out next week Sunday for the FITASC. Remember you get a weekend break after that, followed up by the 200 bird Sporting Clays on Sat July 26 and Sunday July 27.
