Commentary

At the risk of sounding like a scratched record, bouncing back again and again over the same section of a record - ONeal set a BOSS course again; this time at Sligoville. If anyone can remember a straight bird, with no curl, please remind me! The birds really made exceptional use of the wonderful Windover property. Between a wonderful course and a sumptuous meal, fun was had by all.

Now, as for the meal! It was truly a MAXXIS affair. Lawx, how the chicken so big! I cyan finish dis! Some how these statements were followed up by a "khulling" of the food on the plate. Kudos on the taste, presentation and size of the portions. Even the cake was MAXXIS size!

Speaking of size; the turnout was the largest for the year BY FAR! Thank you shooters for really coming out to support one of the best sponsors of the Club, MAXXIS tyres and Chadad distributors.

The shooters were really on form today. Bobby Chung has firmly stamped his entry visa back into the top with HOA and a fantastic ninety (90); taking home $20,000 along with the top honours. Craig Simpson, though no longer Sporting Clays Captain, still pitched in tremendously to help, while managing to maintain focus and walk away with $15,000 and a Runner Up score of eighty-seven (87).

Mr. Chadad himself shot highest score in A with 86. Geoffrey however, ever the gentleman, stepped away from the position and the prize money as he was main sponsor for the shoot. We recognize his effort however with a NEW position, Highest A, in the final scores table. Nice one Geoff. For the award of A1 and $7,500, Greg 'Oral' Chong shot-off TWICE with Robert Yap before emerging victorious. Greg (85) needs to bring his extra-special "can't-miss" good luck charm with him to every shoot! Robert Yap Foo(85) won $5,000 along with his A2 certificate. A3 and $2,500 went to Ian Banks (83) who is no stranger to the winners circle this year.

A STRONG showing by the other Barnes son, Marc (80) won him B1 and $7,500. After an exciting shoot-off, Grant Sturko (74) left with B2 honours and $5,000 while Richard Ramson (74) took home B3 and $2,500.

C class saw Paul Josephs (75) take home his LONG overdue and well deserved C1 and $7,500. One more win this year Paul and you're up in B where you belong! C2 honours went to Kingsley Chin (74). C3 went to the newcomer to C class, Stafford Hyde (72) - excellent work Staff!

MAXXIS tends to draw out the occasional shooters, and Mike Asher (73) picked up D1, moving into C, and reminding everyone that you don't have to shoot competitively often, to shoot well. Very nice going Mikey. D2 went to another occasional competitor, Brandon Laing (73) and D3 went to Garfield Sang (64), who we expect to find in C before the year is out!

E class had a tremendous turnout of competitors. E1 and Junior 2nd went to Geoffrey Chong (66); welcome to D class Geoff! Robbert Macmillan (60) whistled "Oldies but Goodies' as he waltzed over to collect E2 and Gerald Young-Sang (58), fresh from practice sessions out at the club, went home with E3.

The only two ladies we had competing both managed to break 52 birds and the shoot-off was enjoyed by all the other competitors! Laila Azan (52) won the shoot-off to take home L1, while Toni Barnes (52) took home L2.

Richard Azan Jr. (73) was just edged out of the certificates in B class by one bird but continues to take home Junior 1st award. Congrats Richard on the award and the consistency! Dillon Wilson (59) took home J3.

Sub-Juniors was dominated by the Chad and the Ad at this Chadad competition! Chad Ziadie (46) won SJ1 while Adam Ziadie (40) won SJ2. SJ3 went to Zachary Chong (38).

Our next registered shoot is P.W.D. on 11th May 2008. Please make a note in your calendars as this is another can't miss shoot! See you all at the Club for practice before.
