Commentary

Once again, Oneal "The Master" Brown set an enjoyable and challenging sporting clays course. None of the birds looked very difficult or very far, yet many an A class shooter missed a truck by only a wheel or two!

The turnout of 43 people still leaves a lot to be desired. We know that there are more shooters who, with a little encouragement from friends, will come out for a great day of shooting the birds, shooting the breeze and shooting the shh.... fried fish?

We know that Portmore can't match Windover for ambiance and spectacular views, but it is definitely getting close to Windover regarding the quality of the courses and the birds set. The President is asking everyone to make an effort to bring out a friend for the next shoot. Lets all really support the next shoot and get our squads out in full force for a fantastic day of 100+ shooters.

The end of the shoot today saw Peter McConnell as HOA, 4 birds clear of Damien Moe RUP, however we had an exciting three-way shoot off for class positions in A class. Ian Banks, in true form scored 6/8, dropping two of the "Way-Way-Out-There" chandelles. Tommy Smith, on return from injury put on a fine performance exiting with 3/6 and Bobby Chung broke two of the tower birds to exit with 2/8 and A3.

Congrats again to the staff and our manager, Paul Hanson, on continuing to upgrade the facilities and having them looking better every time we visit.

Hoping to see a big turn out April 13th.
See you there!
