Notice is hereby given of a Special General Meeting of the Jamaica Skeet Club to be held at General Accident Insurance Company, 58 Half Way Tree Road, Kingston 5 on Monday 3^rd December 2007 at 6:00 pm. The agenda for the meeting is provided below.

As a member, we encourage you to attend. Please remember that you need to have paid your 2006/2007 subscription, up to December 2007, to be eligible to vote. 

AGENDA

1. Call to order

2. Apologies for absence

3. To consider moving the Annual General Meeting to the last Tuesday in January of each year [Rule 7 a)]

4. To consider an increase in the Full Members Entrance Fee to US$300, or any other agreed sum

5. To consider an increase in the Full Members Annual Subscription Fee to US$300, or any other agreed sum

6. To consider accepting new applications for membership as an Associate member, and the Associate Members Entrance Fee to be the same as a full member, or any other agreed sum

7. To consider an increase in the Associate Members Annual Subscription Fee from One-Half to Three-fifths of a Full Members subscription fee, or any other agreed ratio. [Rule 11 b)]

8. To consider a decrease in the Junior Members Annual Subscription Fee from One-Half to One-Quarter of a Full Members subscription fee, or any other agreed ratio. [Rule 11 b)]

9. To consider a reduction in the Junior Members Entrance Fee, so that a Junior member shall not pay an entrance fee [Rule 11 a)]

10. Adjournment

The President, Errol T. Ziadie, on behalf of the Managing Committee, intends to move the following resolutions for the amendment of the Rules.

1)      Be it resolved that Rule 7 a) be amended as follows:

By deleting the phrase in the first sentence, “in the month October each” and substituting thereto the phrase “on the last Tuesday in January of each year” so that Rule 7 (a) shall now read “The Annual General Meeting of the Club shall be held on the last Tuesday in January of each year (except in the event of an Act of God or other emergencies) at such time and place as shall be determined by the Managing Committee for the following purposes:

                                i. To receive from the Committee a report and audited statement of accounts for the preceding year.

                              ii.To elect the Officers and Committee of Management for the ensuing year;

                            iii. To decide on any Resolution which may properly be brought before the meeting;

                            iv. To decide on subscriptions, entrance fee, and other dues for the ensuing year;

                              v. To appoint from among the Life Members and Full Members two (2) auditors who are not members of the Managing Committee for the purpose of auditing the accounts of the Club

                            vi. Any other business which may be properly considered at an Annual General Meeting.”

2)      Be it resolved that Rule 11 a) be amended as follows:

By inserting the phrase “& Associate” after the first word, deleting the phrase under Junior Member, “One Half of a Full Member’s Entrance fee however, that” and substituting thereto the phrase “Shall not pay an entrance fee, however” and by deleting the word, “further” so that Rule 11 (a) shall now read “The Entrance fee shall be:

Full & Associate Members:  To be decided from time to time at the Annual General Meeting or a Special General Meeting.

Junior Members:         Shall not pay an entrance fee however, a Junior Member, on being elected a Full Member, shall pay a half of a Full Member’s Entrance Fee existing at the time of his election as a Full Member.”

3)      Be it resolved that Rule 11 b) be amended as follows:

By deleting the phrase, “Half” and substituting thereto the phrase “Quarter” and by inserting the phrase, “Associate Members: Three-Fifths of a Full Member’s annual subscription.” so that Rule 11 b) shall now read “The Annual Subscription shall be:

Full Members:   To be decided from time to time at the Annual General Meeting or a Special General Meeting.

Associate Members:  Three-fifths of a Full Member’s annual  subscription

Junior Members:       One Quarter of a Full Member’s annual subscription.”

4)      Be it resolved that Rule 3 a) v) be amended as follows:

By deleting the phrase, “, by virtue of paying One-Half the Subscription Fee applicable to a Full Member or such other proportion of a Full Member’s subscription fee as shall be determined by the membership of the Club in General Meeting from time to time,” and substituting thereto the phrase “shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of Full Members, save and except that they” and the last sentence be removed in its entirety, so that Rule 3 a) v) shall now read “Associate Members: Subscribing members who shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of Full Members, save and except that they shall not be entitled (i) to be elected as an Officer or a member of the Managing Committee of the Club; or (ii) to purchase the Club’s ammunition at such reduced prices as shall be available to Full Members from time to time.”
