Second-generation shooter Geoffrey Ziadie captured the annual Jamaica Skeet Club All Jamaica Shotgun Championship, which was held over the past three weekends at the Causwell Farm in Sligoville, St Catherine.

Ziadie, son of Jamaica Skeet Club president Errol Ziadie, topped the standings with a total of 349 points out of 400, after scoring 92 points in the 100-target Fitasc; 91 points in the 100-target Five-Stand; and 166 points in 200-target, two-day Sporting Clays.

Ziadie's 91 points were good enough for him to win the Five-Stand ahead of Shaun Barnes, who tallied 89 points.

Brett Thwaites was runner-up in the Shotgun Championship with 342 points out of 400. He won the Fitasc with 94 points, ahead of Greg Chong on 92, but lost ground with a paltry 81 points in the Five-Stand, only to rally with 167 points to finish second behind Ian Banks' 168 in the Sporting Clays.
Greg Chong was second runner-up in the Shotgun Championship.

The major winners, as well as the various sectional winners were recognised at an awards presentation ceremony at the Jade Garden Restaurant on Monday night.

Jamaica Skeet Club president Errol Ziadie noted that the just-concluded shoot was "one of the best All Jamaica shoots ever". He added that the targets thrown in all three disciplines were of international standard.
